Native CAD documents need the right export
A CAD file may contain editable features, an assembly or an exchange model. Native part and assembly documents are not interchangeable with STEP or STL. Export the required bodies from a compatible CAD application, then check a known dimension and the curved surfaces in the resulting mesh.
